Flavor Ban Update September 13 2019

Many of our customers have expressed some concern over the news that our government is now seeking to ban all non-tobacco flavorings in e-liquid. So we just wanted to take the opportunity to address some of those concerns.

1. Should I stockpile juice?
We're imagining someone going through an apocalypse-like scenario, and we'd say now isn’t the time for that. Legislation takes time to be drawn up and enacted, so our best estimate would be around 2 months before enforcement begins (if they're quick to act).

2. How is this going to affect TBD?
This announcement has moved up the timetable on some already existing plans that we had for next year, flavor shots! We have already started the process of getting the infrastructure in place to begin producing and selling just our flavor recipes rather than selling pre-mixed e-liquid.

We wanted to start breaking you guys into the whole idea of adding things on your end, so we started small by releasing two new concentrate additive products.

We include easy instructions on the labels for those, and we plan to do the same thing for our upcoming e-liquid flavor shots. We’re actually a little excited because it will allow our customers to add extra or less flavoring according to their own personal tastes on their end. We think that’s awesome.

3. What's the real story?

The truth of the matter is this, the FDA started giving us trouble a little while ago. We were sent a warning letter stating that we sold our raspberry sorbet and rainbow sherbet products to a minor. We sent a reply back to them explaining that we were small enough operationally that we are able to track who the end-customer was on every single bottle going all the way back five years. We don't wholesale / work with distributors, everything we produce gets made-to-order and shipped directly to you.

So we asked the FDA for two things -

1) A rough date range
2) The city in which they found these products in the possession of a minor.

With that information we'd be able to track exactly who the intended end user was for those flavors. The FDA never responded to us.

There has been a very clear agenda set from the get go. Those in power want to get rid of all the small american businesses to pave the way for big tobacco to control the market. They saw an opportunity this week with the recent deaths regarding blackmarket thc cartridges. They now believe they can just brute force their agenda through, because let's face it, the public opinion on vaping isn't great right now.

Most of our competitors from 2014 no longer exists for a reason, they've been either muscled out by juul or scared away by the FDA. Well we're pretty smart and we aren't scared. We don't care about making a ton of money, we only care about helping people stay away from cigarettes. We feel that's a good enough reason to want to stick around.

What are the facts?

"..there’s almost no doubt that they expose you to fewer toxic chemicals than traditional cigarettes" (Michael Blaha, Director of Clinical Research at Johns Hopkins Ciccarone Center for the Prevention of Heart Disease)
